If you were to slowly build it and take your time gathering the parts together I would get Warmoth, USACG or WD Music Products to obtain the neck and body. I wouldn't get one from guitar fetish unless money is an issue because I have heard some bad things about them like uneven neck pockets an such and plus I am not too fond of the type of wood thats used most of the time. It looks like a good place to start learning. So does anyone have any experience with these? It's not like you can expect a whole lot for a hundred bucks but if it's reasonably playable then you can always upgrade the hardware later. I was poking around some parts sites recently and noticed that Guitar Fetish has kits available for around a hundred bucks. Besides, the whole point is to have something cheap that I can dink around with, experiment on and not be too broken hearted if I do end up screwing it up. Made things out of wood, various electronics projects, etc., but this will be the first guitar I've ever attempted and I'd really rather not spend more on the parts from Warmoth than I would on an American Standard and only end up making some sort of fatal mistake. I've always been fairly good with my hands. I've sourced parts from Warmoth as well as other manufacturer and the problem is always the cost.

I've been thinking about building a guitar for quite a while, now.
