The wet suits come out and the comedy follows but nearly 50 minutes into the episode it feels too little too late as this Season 30, yes you heard me correctly, a milestone 30th anniversary season goes out with a whimper. Whilst the road trip segment was a nice easy watch it just felt very samey and didn’t have that unique selling point or comedic value until right at the end of the episode. To add insult to injury Chris shows off a Toyota GR Yaris and tries to justify the ridiculous price that puts it out of every logical person’s decision to purchase. Only 20 minutes in of what is supposed to be a season finale and it feels like a mid-season segway. I wasn’t invested in what I was watching for a good proportion of the episode and the format stayed very similar to other more sluggish eps.
I have absolutely no idea why it was cut short but this last episode was a bitter pill to swallow. Certainly not the big Alton Towers finale of series 29 and being such a monumental 30th season you’d think the episode would go out on a bang.ĭon’t get me wrong the episode along with the series has been superb, the chemistry, the cinematics, the comedy and more, the 30th season has been a hit but it feels like it had only just begun and now it’s ended.
